Starting June 17, Nowy Dziennik is under new ownership.
The Board of Directors of Bicentennial Publishing Co. Inc., publisher of Nowy Dziennik for the past 40 years, decided at its May 20 meeting to sell the rights to publishing the newspaper, both its print and online versions. The buyer and sole owner of the newspaper trademark will now be Outwater Media Group of Garfield, New Jersey. The sale contract was signed on May 27 in the law offices of Geoffrey Bass, Esq. of Manhattan. On behalf of Bicentennial Publishing Co. Inc., the agreement was signed by the publication's current president Tadeusz Kondratowicz and Outwater Media Group's Leszek (Nick) Sadowski.
Outwater Media Group is owned by brothers Leszek (Nick) Sadowski and Bart Sadowski, as well as Edward Nowakowski. The new buyer has several years of experience and noted success in both the Polish and the American press, audio/visual media and advertising. Nowy Dziennik is the largest running Polish-language daily newspaper in the United States.
The publication's new owners plan on making thorough changes within the newspaper. The staff of the newspaper will change to a degree as well. The new team will be working out of its new headquarters in Garfield, NJ, as well as satellite offices located in areas with large Polish communities, such as Greenpoint, Brooklyn and Ridgewood, N.Y.
Readers can expect an updated layout, new sections, authors and collaborators, as well as a fresh approach to Polonia and Polish affairs. The new publisher assures that although he plans to utilize the full potential of the paper's growth online, he will not neglect the print version, which has its own dedicated readers.
