New regulation at Indian consulate in Canada makes it harder for Pakistani Canadians to obtain visas

The Indian consulate in Canada has just made it harder for Canadians of Pakistani origin to obtain a visa. They are saying that such Canadians must give up their Pakistani citizenship before they can apply for an Indian visa! One wonders why this new rule has come up when there is supposed to be a peace process on.

If Canadian Pakistanis apply for the Indian visa on their Pakistani passport they are told they will have to wait of three to six months for the visa.

It seems the Indians are learning from the U.S. administration to discriminate among Canadian citizens based on their national and religious origin.
