No raise for workers earning tips

 On July 24th, the New York State Department of Labor announced an increase in the minimum wage, from $7.15 to $7.25, in order to comply with federal legislation. However, this increase doesn't apply to workers who earn tips, whose hourly wage has been $2.13 since 1991.
