Afghan leaders in Queens are questioning Census numbers that claim that there are about 6,600 Afghans in the borough. Mayor Bloomberg has challenged the Census numbers for undercounting several communities in the city, including Astoria and Jackson Heights, by reporting housing units as vacant when they are fully occupied.
